Those of you who have been reading and following my blog will know I have been having oily skin recently and had to change a lot of my skincare and make up products. The hardest for me was finding the right foundation, I have used MAC studio fix foundation for a while and all round was pretty happy, but found with powder foundations you are limited in what you can do in terms of highlighting and conceal which was difficult mixing liquid and powder - you can imagine the result eek!
So I decided to go down the liquid route and found myself trying the Clinique 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer you can read more here its a great foundation and gives great coverage, however I have found especially after a long day at work - my foundation looked visible and very shiny and found it hard to keep in place.
Till I found this foundation by Estée Lauder. I have read endless reviews from bloggers and have always heard great things, but it was when a sales assistant in Body Shop (while I was browsing) also promoted this and said to at least try a sample (which they do give out for free which lasts for 10 days!) absolutely worked like a dream for her. I took the plunge and bought it.
The sales assistance at Estée Lauder are so lovely and talked me through the product and also matched my skin tone perfectly. Even with the first try I could see and feel a difference.
The top things I loved about it:
- Has a natural matt finish
- 15-hour staying powder
- Lightweight and Oil Free
- Buildable - you can decide the intensity of your coverage
- SPF 10 sunscreen to protect your skin
It settles in the skin so easily - once applied you may need to leave for a couple of minutes so it can set and found it stays in place and not so easy to rub off. As I do often need to control the shine, I may need to pat my face with powder during the day to control this but found it is a lot less than previous foundations.
Only downside, it does not have a pump which can make it hard to use and you can easily depense a lot of product then needed - Estée Lauder will be selling these soon but you can always buy a pump from MAC in the meantime (only costs £4) which fits onto the bottle perfectly.
