*Sophie Kinsella: Finding Audrey

I absolutely love Sophie Kinsella, she is currently one of my favourite authors and has always reminded me of why I loved reading. Sophie Kinsella, in case she is not familiar to you is known for writing the 'Shopholic Series' which is pact full of fashion ,excitement and such a enjoyment read. She has always found a way to connect with her readers as well as allowing us to fall in love with every character she creates.

When I had the chance to review her latest book 'Finding Audrey' which has just released in the UK - June 4th (and US June 9th) I grabbed at the chance, this book is a lot different from her previous novels, but what's great about Sophie Kinsella she offers a variety to all her readers from her standalone books to her more serious darker novels by Madeline Wickham (which is actually her real name!) I am sure there is a book for everyone.

'Finding Audrey' is Sophie Kinsella first YA (Young Adult) Novel and is does touch on a delicate situation that some people deal with in their day-to-day life. Without giving much away Sophie offered this a little insight to what this novel is about:

"I'm very excited to introduce my first YA novel, Finding Audrey.
Audrey is a teenage girl suffering from Social Anxiety Disorder. She has experienced bullying, and as a result has become virtually a prisoner in her own home. This is the story of her journey to recovery, with the help of a boy named Linus. It’s sad in places, but funny and romantic too."

It is definitely different to the many books I have read, but it gave me a great insight into the life of those that deal with this and how people try to overcome it. As always Sophie Kinsella gripped me to the story from the first page, and connected almost instantly with Audrey. It felt like I was following and learning at the same time during her journey to the other side and it was such a great experience.

The story has some great characters, from a whacky, paranoid mother, crazy gamer brother to a laid back father who just wants peace. Sophie Kinsella brings humour, realism and young romance to this sweet-telling novel.

What I loved most about this story, you can become so in tuned with the characters you can detect what may happen or even how that particular character is feeling without the book telling you - which is what makes Sophie Kinsella books so unique. I loved reading the sweet romance and support network blossoming between two teenagers which was so surreal.

As this book is aimed at Young Adults, I was skeptical if I would be able to grasp the story and really get involved, but it proves Sophie Kinsella can write for all ages no matter what the subject/novel entails, its all due to her writing style that always keeps you captivated.

If you are looking for a fun book that is heartfelt and poignant, full of humour, charming and just a delight from start to finish, I'm sure you will love this book as much as I do.

To have more of an insight to the story you can view the new trailer to the book here It truly portrays the story and shows a snippet of the characters so you can have a sneek peek before reading!

I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars  - looking forward to future releases from Sophie!

"I hope that you will find the story of Audrey and her chaotic family a funny and uplifting one. Audrey is brave, charming and resourceful girl and I hope she will inspire you as much as she has inspired me. I always fall in love with my heroines, but with Audrey I feel a special protective fondness, too.
